I come an see this performance of the Rigodon de Honor and these young men and women dance it perfectly. The authenticity is beautiful. Congratulations and the costumes are perfectly Filipino befiting the regal elegance of this dance. GGR. Bayanihan consultant.
Why are the dancers dressed this way. I thought in this dance participants are dressed elegantly.Women in a beautiful Maria Clara, not this kind of multi brightly colored outfit and the men in barong, not this dark shirt with the hanging undershirt.
ang name po ng song is also Rigodon de honor. you could buy a volume package in National bookstore or Odessey.. :) just be sure that it says at the back of the tape/CD that it is Rigodon de Honor.
Can you kindly provide the title of this beautiful music, thank you....maraming salamat, muchas gracias!

yes there are american inluences in philippine folk dances...Clogging
Are there any American influences on Philippine Folk dance?
The Rigodón de Honor may be of French influence but the ones who brought it to the Philippines were the Spanish friars who taught it to the native rulling class or Principalía of towns and cities to open ballroom dances for religious charities or a local fund drive. The music is Spanish and Filipino.
