Paseo de Iloilo of SUKDT

Author: engelboen
Description: This dance is an original interpretation of The Silliman University Kahayag Dance Troupe of the Paseo de Iloilo; Also known as Andaluz, this is one of the most sophisticated courtship and flirtation dances of the Spanish era. The gentlemen compete among each other to win the heart of the dalaga, or young lady, by exemplifying chivalry, grace, and confidence. This was during the outreach gala concert of SUKDT last August 2, 2008 at the Municipality of Manjuyod, Province of Negros Oriental, Philippines.

yup... your absolutely right!

Actually andaluz is another term of paseo de iloilo,

owkie... :)

again. you're missing the point. see, you're talking about the authenticity of the dance. therefore, there should be uniformity when it comes to the execution/interpretation of the dance literature. gets? even if there are a lot of interpretations, there should still be that element of uniformity and universality of the specific dance move. especially in the sarok/salok move. i've seen some of it and it makes me laugh because their interpreation is totally different.

yeah. but we're talking about the consistency of the dance interpretation so as not to confuse everyone.

again, there are a lot of interpretations of folk dances. just as long you dont really alter the dance from its authenticity, it's fine.

parang iba yata ang interpretation nito sa interpretation namin nung HS pa ako. yung circle in the air eh medyo magulo. at may resemblance siya sa andaluz na folk dance din.
