Naga Tribal Dances

Author: ECCJimmy
Description: This clip shows some short samples of dances by various Naga tribes, performed by children at the National Baptist Church Councils Childrens Festival in Dimapur on 19th January 2008. The Zeme dancers are from the town of Peren (the song means: Come to Peren the people will welcome you). The reaction of the young spectators to the bare buttocks of the Sumi boys despite their fearsome spears and machetes indicates how modern Naga culture is becoming estranged from at least some aspects of its traditions. The Sumi girls and the imposing Angami dancers are equally fascinating for their unusual vocal techniques and their rhythmic dances, and the Kuki bamboo pole dance is highly reminiscent of highland Scottish sword-dancing. The Zeme and the Kuki dances are both accompanied by the ubiquitous Naga drum.

Eito laga dance bhal hoise.taikhan bodria dane korise. mor bhi dance koribo mon jaise

Bodos (also known as kachari) from Assam , India are Kirats too. Bodos in their ancient years used to pray their forefathers. But due to encroachment by Aryan they have been influenced and sanskritized into Hinduism. The Bodo language is of Tibeto-Burmese family which adheres again to Kirat. And yes definitely Kirats-Bodo are demanding freedom from Indian rule. That's why Kirats-Bodo militants kill 8 Indian soldiers who opposed them. Unite Kirat. plz watch the video--> Kiratas:the Himalayas Race

oohh, this is so beautiful!!! their costumes are like the body painting of the Selk'nam
