@newcrack24 All the Bayanihan dances should be looked as interpretations of the traditional dances/exercise/rituals. They take the traditional and transform the dance and the music to Western conventions of stage, storytelling, and audience.
@arlanmauhay More appropriately known as "Pangalay ha Pattong."
The girl who fell as they bringing in the sails looked like she hurt herself. She was limping on the way out. Professional as always, they carried on like nothing happened.
I don't know that I liked Singkil and Pangalay ha Pattong mixed together. The music for Singkil is dramatic in its own and I felt that the music for Pangalay worked against the tapping. Plus the Singkil princess seemed so frantic. Exciting but not graceful.
may nadapa sa 6:42... pero tayo p din... show must go on... galing very professional
Beautiful! Ang galing ng Kuntao Choreography though I'm still doubtful about details of the movement..
Spectacular dance. Well done!
the third dance was the "Janggay", it exhibits the metal nail extensions used by women, most popular in Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia..
and the final dance was the "Singkil", the epic dance of a princess who was challenged by a Maranao prince to walk in bamboo traps...
this is the Mindanao Suite of the troupe...
the first dance was called "Kazilimut" a dance showing how to use the rounded cloth which was called a "Malong"...
the second dance was the "Kuntao" or the martial arts dance of the Maranao.
who won?
It is really unfair for the reputation οf this festival to competioning PROFFECIONAL WITH AMATEUR GROUPS !!And With great disappointment that happened!!AT last GUESS who won the 1st price!! Of cource this group is very good , amazing but this is another story.
