also, i hope rainen had his baybayin tattooed by an expert who can read & write in baybayin properly (also knows how the filipino language works to understand the abugida system). i hear many don't even know how it works & spell the tattoos on their customers wrongly thinking baybayin works like the western alphabet when its an abugida or syllabery system of writing.

Yes, but mostly filams who r confused if they r pacific islander/latino, depending where they grew up. & u can see countless vids on yt on how filams mock filipinos & call them fobs. there's a saying, 'mas kano pa sa kano' - think about it. also it's baybayin, not alibata. i also noticed many of them don't know much of their culture, traditions, nor even speak/understand any filipino language, very diff from other cultures who have pride in their culture more than filipinos

Are you talking about Filipinos who grew up or were born in other countries like the US? I agree with you about knowing yourself. However, I don't think it's MOST Filipinos. Living here in Melbourne, I've observed that those who were born/raised here are pretty much, at the very least, aware of the traditions. As for Jabba, Rainen has a new cross-shaped tattoo made up of the Lord's Prayer written in Alibata.

That's cool but I noticed that most filipinos have very little knowledge of their own culture or indigenous traditions, I wish that many are aware at the very least. I'm sure as wise as Bruce Lee is he is very much in touch with his own culture no? For you to know & understand others, you must understand yourself. If you do not know who you are, how can you know others?

Yup. They idolize Bruce Lee the philosopher and not really the martial artist from what I've observed. They like how Bruce Lee is open to any styles of martial arts just like they are open to any kind of dance or music. They like Bruce's dedication to his art. If arnis has any kind of philosophy that would inspire them, then they might know about it. Don't be sad. ;-)

from Bruce Lee's Jeet kun do? I wonder if these filams are even aware of arnis then. Pretty sad.

KB actually coined the term beat-kun-do to describe his/jabba freestyle. if you're impressed with Joe, you'll be in awe of KB. he is the master of beat-kun-do.

we need to stop the jingoism. let's tone down the pinoy pride thing since not all the jabbas are pinoys. kinda reminds of the americans when they chant "USA! USA! "USA! i soo hate that. much love and respect to ALL jabbas.

This is how great Filipinos are!!!

I like this

where can i find the complete interview? this seems like a good interview. also, they mentioned that their dancing was similar to martial arts, they should look into their own indigenous martial art - fma (filipino martial arts).

i also don't like it when we exclaim pinoy pride for every instance, we can show our support without being arrogant. akala ko ba humility is 1 of our greatest assets? besides i think fake pride lang yon, true pride is learning about your culture, your ancient traditions/culture, & recognizing both our assets as a people & our faults/flaws so we may fix it & end this dastardly destruction of the phils & culture & society.

wahhhhh..bakit ngaun ko lng toh nakita!!!!

OMG Joe!!! u are the best!!! love u so much ..

KB: yes on the spot lang to freestyle.. its freestyle.. LMAO :))) much love jabbawockeez! :D
