Many people didn't know that Kool G Rap was dissin LL Cool J when he said "Dispel Excel Terminate Well, You lift the barbell, but you still Cottonelle
The A-side of this 12 inch is also a great track..It's called "Evolution",too bad it's not on youtube!
MC Shan, Kool G Rap and Tragedy murdered this track!
Man young money cant even come close to the juice crew
Damn the Intelligent Hoodlum sound mad young in this cut
It's a trip that I haven't heard this song in 20 years and still know all the words
Definitely one of the illest posse jams of all times. MCs still can't get with 98% of the rappers in this song.
Thank you for uploading this, unbelievably, funky and def track. Especially with the slideshow video......very nice.
I have to listen to this track every day!!! It's simply so def and direct. The rappers of 1978-1990 are DEFINITELY the best and couldn't be better since they are already the best.
TRAGEDY !
TRAGEDY KILLED IT!!
Happy Birthday Roxanne Shante! 11/9/11
sounding like ll cool j i need a beat, the flow pattern too!
One of the top 5 hip-hop recordings of all-time!!! Old school rap is where it's at, DEFINITELY. Always funky fresh.
She's still around and doing well. She comments on this video as Jamilah37!
As for her picture,I couldn't find one of her so I put a picture of her record up during her verse. damn I wish she could've made an album with all Marley Marl production on it.
well damn what happened to the MC Glamourous
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!
OMG!
Well, after Ice-T left Sire, C. Delores Tucker shut her mouth, and business was as usual--and "Live and Let Die" would have probably been rereleased through WB. Peace.
I stand to be corrected. I'm thinking about seeing the old Rhyme Syndicate Management logo beside the Sire logo, the label WAS dist. by Epic (R$R). But I know Cold Chillin' was owned by Fly Ty and Lenny Fichtelberg and was dist. by Warner/Reprise. I was speaking on how WB scrutinized and tried to shelve and postpone hip hop releases on the labels it distributed (Sire,Cold Chillin',Tommy Boy). Thanks for clearing that up.
Ice-T was signed directly to Sire, while Rhyme $yndicate was DISTRIBUTED by Epic. However, Ice-T signed with Priority, which was and still is part of EMI, after leaving his old label amicably and more or less shut down R$. Cold Chillin' was DISTRIBUTED by Warner Bros. and had no ownership in the label. Peace.
no prob. kool to know.
To complete my thought, G Rap & Polo's "Live And Let Die" had to be independently distributed by Cold Chillin' (which I think killed the sales of that album) and Ice T had to move his Rhyme Syndicate label over to Priority Records to release "Home Invasion". Both labels were STILL under WB distribution at the time. Had WB bought Cold Chillin',I think they would've experienced more problems with creative control.
I don't think it would've been in Cold Chillin's best interest to have WB buy them out. Remember WB was a part of Time-Warner who also distributed Tommy Boy and Sire. Time-Warner was feeling pressure from different interest groups concerning hip hop lyrics (remember Ice-T/Body Count,Almighty RSO) as well as nearly shelving projects because of sample clearances and artwork (Biz Markie,Kool G. Rap & Polo,KMD).
Sorry, I meant summer camp, not school. Peace. |
