hindi naman lahat ng bata may mga katulad ko namang nag uubos ng oras sa mga gantong bagay :) madami din kami.
fascinating! 'lots of stories here! are all this purely Ifugao dances? I'm Kankana-ey. yeah...all Cordillerans and other neighboring highlanders like Gaddangs and Ilongots/Bugkalots were former headhunters.
yes!banaueans are really talented....people who joiined this group are from amganad....they went to america for the show...amazing!
kan uwah nin ngata go an maka tolge yah makatayo and iminum hi baya??..i miss ifugao:)
kasi ang mga bata ngayon, nobody but you at paparazzi na lang ang alam. kakalungkot nga eh. sa forum namin with the Gadang people, un sabi nila. kahit sa maynila ganun din e.
ans to your query, yes indeed our forefathers were once headhunters before as my father had relayed a story about his gran grand parents practicing the act long time ago, before having a lot of human heads in your backyard entails prestige and power. read more books about ifugao cultures and traditions,
a g8 presentation ndid! but it simz confusing & a big ? 2me now.. sinz my childhud, it wz instilled in my mind dat ifugaos aren't HeadHunting. i stil recall wen headhunting wz a hot issue in my elem. days.. our lowlander clasm8s wer teasing us cordillerans abt dat. so i askd my dad if we, ifugaos practice d same ting & he said no. he den mentiond a specific place n d cordilleras wer HH is practiced sinz n der culture, it s an honor!.. or wz dat jz a part of ur presentation?..
oy I miss my bawot!!..
they are still existing, but rarely performed due to the christian values that the Ifugao people embraced. I recently witnessed the "War Dance" performed in 2008 in Hapao. We are christianized but we have to perform such in times of great tragedy.
nice...but sad to say nawawala na mga ganyan...are they intended for theaters or for special presentations only?i'm a native of ifugao pero d ako lumaki dun but i love to watch whenever they have presentations like this...hagiyo ifugao! so proud to be ihungduan!!!
beautiful show...makes us proud to be Filipinos!
