This is a continuation of our visit to Fort Santiago Intramuros. I was left behind by the others since I was too busy taking a video of just about every corner of the old-walled city, hehe. I spotted them going inside the "Rizal Shrine." It's a museum where most of Jose Rizal's original writings were on display and some of his personal garments and stuff were preserved and displayed as well. There were also many original paintings on display of which some, existed during his time. By the way, Jose Rizal is considered to be the Philippine National Hero and he paved the way during his time for Philippine Independence from Spanish occupation. He is considered to be a very important figure in the Philippine History. As a matter of fact, his face is displayed in the one-peso Philippine Coin Currency. As much as I wanted to take a video of this museum dedicated to Jose Rizal, I was not able to since at the entrance, the guard told me that picture taking/videos were not allowed inside. I just wondered, WHY???? Lolz. Fort Santiago, Intramuros Manila, Philippines February 24, 2008 |
