Flatbed dryer for grains and vegetables with integrated biochar retort

Author: jochen53
Description: This is our first experiment for the construction of a rice hull fired dryer. We are testing different functions which will be applied to the future commercial style dryer. One target is to generate hot air at different temperatures simultiniously. For rice just 43 C is needed while vegetables, corn etc. requiers temperatures from 60 - 80 C. We are using local available materials only. One of the main criterias is that the dryer can be reproduced everywhere with local skills and materials at a very low budget. We are based in Tigaon, Camarines Sur, Philippines. Please feel free to contact me anytime: buddelbini@yahoo.de or have a look to our project - homepage http://www.buddel.de/kft/en/index.htm Update: By September 2010 we are planning a new video because in the meantime there have been many new features at the farm.

Its about 2-3 sacks rice husk per hour.

Nicely done video and oven keeps burning hot by using rice hull as fuel. How many cavans or sacks of wet palay can be dried in 10 hrs time? Thanks.
