It's this thinking of "poor is humble" or "poor is like being a martyr" that's making Philippines so LEFT BEHIND. Being poor should NOT be a positive thing. This is such a sad thing about humanity. Some people are pursuing more and more materialistic things in life. It is however at the expense of losing the time to spend helping other people. They are just pursuing more and more empty pleasures in life. They are not content. I think it is quite a sad and miserable life. I believe tey should help other peole instead. Corruption in Philippines is basically caused by 2 systems: Political clans and the failure of the Presidential system. If these 2 systems are eliminated, then it can give way to economic liberalization and prosperity.
